Natural Dyes & Plant Sale Sept. 7th (EUGENE)
Join us for an afternoon of Natural Dyeing! This introductory class will cover the basics of natural dyeing with foraged and cultivated plants specific to the PNW. We will cover mordanting (pre-treating) the fabric, how to process and i.d. plants, making the dye vats, as well as creating a color swatch book, and dyed scarf to take home. All materials provided.
10am-2pm Sunday September 7th, 2025. Hosted outdoors at Hendrick’s Park in Eugene, OR.
Meredith from Kindred Sprouts Nurserywill be sharing common easy-to-grow plants for making natural dyes, their growing requirements, recommendations for successfully overwintering perennials, and tips for harvesting them. A selection of Japanese indigo (Persicaria tinctoria), madder (Rubia tinctorum), lance-leaf coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata), and Black Knight Scabiosa (Scabiosa atropurpurea) will be offered for sale.
